Celebrating 40 years of service in the technology arena is a feat few companies have achieved. On April 1st, Data Systems of Texas (Sharetec’s Southwest partner) celebrated its 40th year in the technology industry. The company was founded in 1974 by current CEO Bob McEachern under the guiding principle of treating both his customers and his employees as he would want to be treated. That same principle guides the company today.
Serving credit unions since 1982, Data Systems provides credit unions with both in-house and service bureau solutions. According to Emmett Meraz, CEO of Southwest Oklahoma Federal Credit Union, “The thing that made the biggest difference to us is the high degree of integrity throughout the Data Systems organization. Data Systems conducts business the way we conduct business: up-front, honest, and service after the sale.”
Sharetec Systems, Inc. was formed in 1993 when Data Systems of Texas along with Bradford-Scott Data Corp, GBS, and NDS of Maine formed a partnership committed to developing a very simple, yet robust data processing solution for their credit union customers. The partners had a vision whereby sharing technology (hence the name Sharetec) and resources they could offer unique service solutions to their regional territories. The combined resources of the Sharetec partners employ over 250 employees, have over $100 million in revenue and support more than 300 credit unions nationwide.
